Founded by Jeanette Yoffe on 18 years of specialized clinical work with adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive families, and carried forward today by our trained clinicians.
Jeanette is a nationally recognized therapist in adoption and foster care: a speaker, author of the PATS video series, and CEU educator for mental health professionals. She has spent her entire 18+ year career focused exclusively on the adoption constellation, and trained our clinical team in her approach.
Adoption involves profound experiences of loss, identity, belonging, and love, often all at once. Yoffe Therapy was founded specifically to serve those touched by adoption. Jeanette Yoffe, LMFT, has spent 18+ years developing specialized approaches for the full adoption constellation: adoptees at every age, birth parents processing their experience, adoptive and foster families navigating complex dynamics, and adults in search and reunion. This is not peripheral work. It is the heart of what we do.
Adoption-related therapy requires a clinician who understands the unique psychological landscape: the grief that coexists with love, the identity questions that resurface at different life stages, the trauma of early separation and institutional care, and the particular challenges of open adoption relationships. Our approach is attachment-based, trauma-informed, and always affirming of every member of the adoption triad.
