Getting started is simple

You don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out. We'll walk with you from the first hello to your first session, and match you with a therapist who genuinely fits. Here's exactly what to expect.

From first call to ongoing care

1

Book a free 15-minute consultation

Reach out by phone, email, or our contact form. This first call is free, low-pressure, and a chance for you to ask questions and tell us what you're looking for. No paperwork comes first.

2

We match you to the right therapist

We listen first, then pair you with the clinician who fits best: by specialty, by language (English or Spanish), and by whether you'd prefer to meet in person in Sacramento or online anywhere in California.

3

Your first session

You and your therapist begin getting to know each other. There's nothing you need to prepare. Your therapist will guide the conversation and help you feel at ease from the start.

4

Ongoing care at your pace

Together, you'll set a rhythm that works for your life: weekly, biweekly, or whatever supports your goals. Therapy moves at your speed, and we revisit what's working as you grow.

What to expect in your first session

If you've never been to therapy, or it's been a while, the first session can feel like a big unknown. Here's the honest version: it's mostly a conversation.

Your therapist will ask what brought you in and what you're hoping for. You're always in control of how much you share and how fast you go. There are no tests, no judgment, and nothing you have to "get right."

A relaxed conversation.

You'll talk about what's on your mind. Your therapist will mostly listen and ask gentle questions.

Your goals, in your words.

Together you'll start to name what you want from therapy, even if it's just "I'm not sure, but something needs to change."

No pressure to continue.

Fit matters. If it's not the right match, we'll happily help you find a better one.
